Mid-May East Coast Road Trip
After graduating from the George Washington University on Sunday, May 16 I made my way back to Boston from Washington D.C. with stops in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Harrison and East Hartford. The night before I left D.C. I attended a lovely performance by Nicholas Iraci.
On the Friday following graduation Iraci performed with his band, Once Okay Twice, at the 9:30 Club.

The following morning Weiss, Iraci, Gyimil and I left in Iraci’s red Saab 9-2X. After dropping off Gyimil in Philadelphia to perform in a dance recital we munched on a few Philly cheesesteaks at, Chink’s Steaks, Weiss’ favorite cheesesteak purveyor on the outskirts of town. It was Weiss’ regular sandwich joint while working for his Dad one summer during high school.
We finally arrived in New York City sometime in the afternoon, missing the international friendly between the Czech Republic and Turkey. After Weiss gave up trying to find me using Google Latitude we saw a lovely performance of Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center Theatre. Although all the performances were sold out for that weekend, we were able to experience the “tale as old as time, told by a group of hilariously talented 7-to-17-year-olds singing dancing with assorted fabulous ocean-themed costumes/head-pieces” by attending the final dress rehearsal.
On Sunday I met up with Kayla, Candace and a friend at the World Trade Center stop for the PATH train to the friendly between the New York Red Bulls and Juventus at Red Bull Arena.

After returning to Newton on Tuesday I attended the international friendly between the United States and the Czech Republic in East Hartford.
