On Saturday February 21st 2009 myself and Micheal Specter organized a small group of students at the George Washington University to mimic the Graffiti Research Lab’s original presentation of L.A.S.E.R. Tag, an open source application based on open frameworks, which uses a camera and projector to capture an intense point of light (defined by a laser pointer) and instantaneously project a ‘brush stroke’ over the point defined by the laser. This processing allows the user to create brush stokes, which can be used to mimic graffiti. Unlike spray paint, the image lasts only as long as the projector is active or the user clears the canvas.
